About

I have been designing since 2005, and in that time my work has appeared in Knit Simple, Vogue Knitting, Knitscene, Interweave Knits, Knitter’s, Creative Knitting, Knit n’ Style, Yarn Forward, Love of Knitting, Crochet Today!, Knitting Today!, Cast On, Magknits and in the yarn company collections of SWTC, Nashua Handknits, Louet, Mission Falls, Classic Elite, Skacel, Shibui Knits, Universal, Aslan Trends, Tilli Tomas, Alpaca With a Twist, Coats and Clark, Premier, Caron, Shepherd Yarns, Alpaca Yarn Company and others. I have also designed projects for numerous knitting books. Additionally, I work as a freelance technical editor for several major yarn companies, a knitting magazine, several book publishers and independent knit/crochet designers. My first book, Knit a Dozen Plus Slippers, was published by DRG in 2010. I am a member of TNNA and was a board member of AKD (Association of Knitwear Designers, now defunct). In a previous life, I worked as an elementary school teacher (grades 1-3).
Additional fun facts:
  • My Sushi pattern won first prize in the 2009 Knitting Pattern a Day calendar ($500!)
  • I completed Levels 1 and 2 of the CYCA Knitting Teacher Certification program.
  • I completed Levels 1 and 2 of the TKGA Master Knitter program, and almost all of Level 3 (just needed to finish knitting the Aran sweater I designed) before getting too busy designing for a living to continue. Maybe someday!
